The '24mm’ Construction dining chair. ' is one of the products made with the '24mm ‘system designed by Arend Groosman.
‘24mm’ concept: one system to build everything.
The ‘24mm’ system leads to endless creative possibilities when it comes to designing furniture. Besides the constructive appearance this is a solid and comfortable chair. Because of its resilience and the curved seat and back rest this design creates extra comfort and support.
All the products are handmade and produced with machines we built by ourselves in our local studio in Scheveningen in The Netherlands. The products are constructed out of 24 millimeters thick birch multiply. We cut the birchwood into carefully calculated strips which makes it possible to work with a minimum amount of waste material.

Octo chandelier

The '24mm Octo chandelier' is made with the ’24mm “system
designed by Arend Groosman.
The Octo chandelier, as the name suggests, has a design that looks like an octopus, because of its' eight arms in combination with the connection elements, with the visible electricity cables that give the chandelier a playful outlook. The original starting idea of the design, however, was not an octopus, but the shape of a UFO, combined with the construction of a kite. The evolution of natural elements as well as man-made constructions are now part of the final product: a balanced design in which form and function are combined.
